What is a spell? A spell is a collection of words and actions with intent and awareness that creates change. Using various items and correspondences, from herbs, to colours, to cycles of the moon, all these are used in accordance to your intent. Casting a spell uses natural energies in order to bring change to yourself or an external situation. You are in charge and you direct the energies to where they must go in order for this change to happen.

Spells can be done without ritual, spells can be done on a whim. It is important to know that if you were for instance out in the woods and you felt certain words or feelings come over you, a spell would be perfect. There doesn’t need to a grand ritual, just a place to sit and maybe some relevant words that may come to you – this would be perfect and is much more effective than you forcing yourself to cast a spell when you just cannot be bothered but you must because the moon is its right phase. The more you commune with nature the easier this all becomes.

Spellcasting starts with a goal. It would be such a waste of energy if you did not have a goal in mind. It would best to cast a spell once a month than everyday just for the sake of it.

You are the spellcaster and you have the energy to make things happen however, the power is neural. Lets take an example of a gun. The gun itself isn’t dangerous. You can pick up a gun for a game in your local leisure park under supervision and this can bring joy, another person who picks up the gun and shoots somebody has an evil intent of ending that persons life. My point is, you are neural and it isn’t until you direct your power that it becomes potent energy with an intent to change things.

You must think to yourself, can I sort this out in the real world? If so, then do it, change things. If not then sit down, relax and write out what your goal is and your intentions. Think about whether your spell would have any repercussions. Sometimes things in life do, use the cause and effect method when choosing your spell.

Next you must look at the timing of your spellcasting, the materials you may need and what you want to say. Use correspondence tables that mention crystal, herbs, colours and moon times. All will contribute to a successful spell.

When the time is right, you can then set up your space and cast your spell.

Remember – always think positively, as if it is DEFINATELY going to happen, this positivity helps for sure!

And always keep records of your spells and anything that happens afterwards, no matter how small, it all has a significance.
